Super Bowl

It's almost here, Super Bowl XL. I can't wait for it to be over so that everything can go back to normal. It seems as if everywhere you turn there is something on the radio, television or in the paper about the Super Bowl. I hope after the Super Bowl Detroit gets a positive response from the media about being a good host city.

Construction and Roadways Discussion

For english class this week we read an article about the Bloods and Crips in L.A. The article was about how they planned to makeover their city. I found the article to be very straight forward. They told the officials of the city of L.A. what they wanted to happen and how long they had to make it happen. Their proposal was well thought out and it included everyone and every aspect of the city.

Best Place For A Good Sub

Best Place For A Good Sub

*Jimmy John's on Anthony Wayne Drive ( their bread is buttery and delicious).
* Subway located next to the Student Center ( their bread is always soft and it's a great place to go on a cold day because it's always warm since they always toast their bread).

The passages we were required to read for class about homelessness were quite interesting. The one article about Nicole Lamy was interesting because she took pictures of every home she lived in and gave us a cute little anecdote about what happened when she lived there. The article in Reading City Life was interesting but I also found it boring. I found myself having to read the passage over and over again to get a better understanding. It may have been because I was sleepy when I was reading the passage. However, the articles did open up my mind to homelessness and how it is a big problem that we live with in America.

My Ad

My ad is a picture of a young man with all of his belongings standing outside of his dorm behind a Toyota Highlander.

Message: I think that my ad is trying to portray that the Toyota Highlander is the best vehicle for college students who are attempting to move into a dorm in a fast amount of time.

Method: My ad conveys this by having a caption at the top of the page that states" 5:15 pm. Dropping the kid off at college. 5:17 pm. What kid". This short caption displays that by using the Toyota Highlander you will be able to drop your college student off at their dorm and carry their thngs to their dorm in a matter of two minutes. ( which really sounds unbelievable)

Medium:This ad is delivered this way because most car companies realize that most teenagers receive their cars between their senior year in high school and their freshmen year in college. By making an ad that portrays that this vehicle is spacious and time efficient, it grabs the attention of college students and parents who may be looking for a car with these characteristics.

Hello Everyone

This is my first blog and I'm excited. This is a new experience but I hope to have fun writing about exciting ideas and other things about the city of Detroit, which is my home.
